Gretsch’s tattoo design was developed to project a visual vibe as distinctive as the Gretsch Catalina Club Mod tonal vibe. To enhance the Tribal tattoo pattern aesthetic, the lug placement on this kit is positioned in a straight line, not in the typical Club Mod offset lug design. Each drum has a different sized tattoo that is proportionate to shell size, a subtle feature that adds to the overall boutique appearance.

Its mahogany shells pump out deep tones from the extra-deep 22″ x 20″ bass drum, 6.5″ x 14″ snare drum, and one up, one down tom set-up. The 20″ depth of the bass drum gives extra low-end punch that can be felt as well as heard. The batter head of the bass drum is pre-muffled to control excessive overtones. Gretsch’s GTS suspension system allows the rack tom to vibrate freely to maximize tone. Also, Evans G1 coated heads come standard with this Club Mod kit, so it sounds excellent right out of the box.
